Only Florentino Perez wanted Kylian Mbappe at Real Madrid: Report

Mbappe’s time at Los Blancos has turned out to be poor so far.
According to reports, Kylian Mbappe was solely coveted by Real Madrid president Florentino Perez at Los Blancos in the summer.
With the World Cup winner’s problems becoming worse, Real Madrid’s ideal free agent acquisition of Mbappe has turned into a recurrent nightmare for both the Frenchman and Los Blancos.
Under head coach Carlo Ancelotti, the 25-year-old has had a sluggish start to the season and has drawn a lot of criticism, particularly during Los Blancos’ 2-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield, when Mbappe wasted a penalty that would have levelled the score for the Spanish champions.
Since the 2018 World Cup, Mbappe had been a top target for Real Madrid, and it appeared that every aspect of the team was in favour of his acquisition.
Real Madrid president Perez, however, was the only member of the team that wanted Mbappe at the Bernabeu, and he was unable to listen to those who questioned his signing, according to journalist Romain Molina.
Mbappe has scored nine goals overall for Real Madrid this season, four of them have come from the penalty spot. According to reports, Mbappe had begged Ancelotti to start him on the left of the attack rather than Vinicius Junior because of his poor play.
But against Liverpool, that ploy nearly fell flat as Mbappe squandered his penalty and was kept silent the entire time by Conor Bradley of the Reds.
When Real Madrid play Getafe at the Bernabeu on Sunday, December 1, the Frenchman is probably going to start again on the left until Vinicius is back.
The former Paris Saint-Germain player still has a chance to prove himself and demonstrate why he wanted to join the Spanish capital in past years. With fans already running out of patience, Mbappe will need to find his rhythm in order to become the main man at the club otherwise his joining would be seen as a failure.
