The France international has signed a two-year deal.
Paul Pogba will soon return to football action after penning a new deal with AS Monaco last week. The midfielder, who was handed a four-year doping ban, seemingly had his football career appear to fall apart.
However, after months away from football, the midfielder’s ban was lifted to 18 months from four years. Pogba was allowed to start training in January and return to playing football in May.
After his ban was reduced, Juventus terminated their deal with the playmaker, making him a free agent in the market. After rumours about his future started making rounds, linking the player to MLS or Saudi Arabia’s league, Pogba opted to remain in Europe.
For Paul Pogba, this decision indicates that he still possesses enough quality to deliver at the top level if he remains injury-free at AS Monaco. He has signed a deal that will be valid until 2027. The player will don the No. 8 shirt.
This is a logical signing for the club as well. They will provide Pogba a better platform to revive his form and also help prepare for the upcoming FIFA World Cup. But how much will the player make during his time at the French club?
Paul Pogba’s AS Monaco wages revealed
Given his stature in football, it is never surprising that a midfielder like Pogba would make a big sum. But after his ban, his value in the market has significantly dropped, which has also affected his status at the club level and wages.
Pogba will earn merely €3.84 million per year at Monaco, which is a significant drop from his Manchester United days, where he was pocketing €17.6 million.
However, player like Pogba can still return to playing at their prime level. It’s just a matter of time before he achieves his peak performance once the new season begins.
The France international’s first cameo could be against Le Havre on August 17. If he plays, all eyes will be on him during that game.
Until then, he continues working toward full match fitness in preparation for what could be one of the most crucial seasons of his career.
