Paul Pogba can resume training with Juventus from January onwards.

Paul Pogba’s four-year doping ban has now been reduced to just 18 months which is a significant boost for the midfielder. He will be allowed to train with Juventus from January and can be seen back on the pitch in March 2025.

Pogba tested positive for dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) – a banned substance that can raise testosterone. The midfielder revealed that he would appeal to the court of arbitration for sport, as he thought was an incorrect verdict against him. Pogba often suggested that people did not know the full story of the doping incident.

However, now the former Manchester United player has received a significant boost and he can soon start training with the Serie A club where his contract runs until the summer of 2026.

It was understood that Juventus wanted to terminate his contract after the doping ban but nothing came of it and he remains on their books

Pogab re-joined Juventus in 2022 from United but his time with the Italian club has been blighted by injuries and after that, he was hit with a ban.

The four-year ban could have meant curtains to his playing career. But, with it being reduced to a year and a half, the French international does have a chance of once again playing at the top level.

Since his move to the Serie A club, the midfielder only played 12 matches in all competitions and had an assist to his name. But now the 31-year-old can return to training under Thiago Motta and once again resume playing football.

After he received his doping ban the midfielder has been training on his own and commented that he is ready to return when the time comes.

Pogba isn’t finished,” he said. “Pogba is here and until you see me say that I’m finished, don’t worry. I have an incredible desire to come back, I feel like a child who wants to be professional. I train, I do everything I can to get back on the pitch.

“The latest news is I’m still a Juve player, I have the contract, but I haven’t had the opportunity to speak to the director and coach. There is silence. I think they’re waiting for the outcome of the appeal, but you have to ask them.”
