Paul Pogba plans to play for France in 2026 FIFA World Cup

The midfielder’s doping ban ended recently.

Paul Pogba, a former midfielder for Manchester United, plans to rejoin France for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after his doping ban was recently concluded.

Since playing for Juventus against FC Empoli on September 3, 2023, the Frenchman has not participated in a competitive match.

That year, he was banned for doping, and his contract with the Italian team was canceled. He was only permitted to play competitive football as of yesterday, when his four-year ban was lowered to just 18 months.

Even with an unexpected comeback to Old Trafford, the former United player has been linked to a number of teams, but he continues to remain a free agent and which club Pogba will join remains unclear.

According to GIVEMESPORT, the innovative midfielder is not in a rush to sign with a new team because he wants to make the perfect choice so he can represent France at the World Cup in the US, Canada, and Mexico the following year.

“Paul Pogba is taking his time over deciding his next club as he eyes a place in the France squad for the 2026 World Cup after his doping ban ended,” the outlet claims.

“Sources have been informed that while Pogba is continuing with his training in Miami with personal fitness coaches to get back in shape for a return to action, he is continuing to talk to interested parties about a potential move.”

Paul Pogba is reportedly attracting interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia, the MLS, and Europe. Some of the teams participating in this summer’s first FIFA Club World Cup are also reportedly in contact with him. Naturally, Pogba is eager to carefully consider all of his choices before deciding on his future.

In 2018, the 31-year-old won the World Cup and even scored a goal against Croatia in the championship match.
