Paulo Dybala reveals what he told Lionel Messi after Argentina won 2022 FIFA World Cup

Dybala played a key role in the La Albiceleste’s World Cup win.
Paulo Dybala has disclosed what he said to Lionel Messi following Argentina’s 2022 FIFA World Cup victory. Dybala was a key member of the squad for the 2022 World Cup, where Argentina went all the way to lift the trophy.
However, Dybala was mainly used as a substitute throughout the tournament, but he made many important contributions as his nation won their third World Cup.
In a conversation with Sports Illustrated, Dybala revealed what he said to Messi following the victory, after scoring in the final penalty.
“I told him (Messi) that the happiness I had for me was the same I had for him. Because I think we have all seen him in sad moments, difficult moments, losing finals.
And the truth is that in the last few years he got everything with the national team, which is so much of what he desired, isn’t it? So his happiness is obviously another joy for us.”
But for La Albiceleste, the 2022 World Cup started more like a horror film than a dream come true. Perhaps the greatest upset in World Cup history occurred when Saudi Arabia shocked Lionel Messi and the entire world with an incredible 2-1 victory.
The Albiceleste would be eliminated if they lost their next game against Mexico as a result of the startling collapse. The team adopted a song that propelled Argentina forward throughout the tournament after two goals in the second half gave them the victory after a nervous first half.
However, Dybala was largely a spectator during the tournament, coming off the bench in the 74th minute of the semifinal matchup against Croatia.
Eight years after succumbing to Germany in the World Cup final at the Maracanã in Brazil, Argentina returned to the final with a 3–0 semifinal victory over Croatia.
The final gave fans one of the greatest World Cup finals as Argentina were cruising to a victory, France managed to stage a comeback, and as both sides couldn’t settle the game with a 3-3.
The game was then decided on penalties, and it was Argentina who prevailed on the spot-kicks with a 4-2 win.
