5. Lucas Stassin
Rudi Garcia has left out the 21-year-old forward for Belgium’s squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026. He plays for the Ligue 2 side AS Saint-Étienne. In 32 fixtures across all competitions, he has only scored 11 goals. Lucas Stassin was on the bench for the recent national team fixture against the USA.
4. Mika Godts
Due to a serious competition for the wingers, Mika Godts has not been included in Belgium’s squad for the upcoming edition of the mega competition. Even though he has put in some good numbers for Ajax in the Eredivisie this season, his chances against the names like Jeremy Doku and Leandro Trossard were always less.
3. Matz Sels
The Nottingham Forest goalkeeper is not going to represent Belgium in FIFA’s flagship tournament, which is all set to begin on June 11. Yet again, with the competition for the position, it became hard for Matz Sels to make his place in the Red Devils’ lineup. Real Madrid’s Thibaut Courtois is going to be the first choice, with Senne Lammens and Mike Penders as other options.
2. Romeo Lavia

One of the options in Chelsea’s midfield, Romea Lavia, has also been left out of Belgium’s squad for the 2026 World Cup. Due to his fitness and injury issues, the defensive-minded midfielder has only competed in 12 Premier League games for the Blues this season.
1. Lois Openda

After spending most of his time on the bench for Juventus, Lois Openda is not going to be present for the Belgium national football team in the upcoming edition of the mega competition. Romelu Lukaku is most likely to lead the attacking front for the Red Devils.
