Many of the big names have not been included in Les Bleus World Cup roster.

France roster chosen to compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, has been revealed by Didier Deschamps.

In the pursuit of a third star, following victories in 1998 and 2018, the national team’s coach, who will manage France for the final time before stepping down at the conclusion of the competition.

However, many big names have not been able to make their way to the squad and with this, we take a look at the top five names missing from the Les Bleus World Cup squad.

5. Matteo Guendouzi

One big name not included in the France World Cup squad is Matteo Guendouzi, the midfielder for Fenerbahçe, who won’t be travelling with the national team to North America next month.

Guendouzi has been regular in call-ups for the squads in past tournaments and international breaks, but the midfielder not being called up this time has been a surprise for many.

4. Khéphren Thuram

It has been a big blow for midfielder Khéphren Thuram, who has not been named in the France final World Cup squad despite his brother Marcus Thuram making it to the roster. However, Deschamps has instead preferred N’Golo Kante in his place, despite Thuram enjoying a decent season with Juventus and making 33 appearances in the Serie A.

The midfielder didn’t suffer any injuries and demonstrated he could be counted on by France in the competition, but it was unfortunate for him not to be named in the squad.

3. Randal Kolo Muani

Didier Deschamps has named a formidable 26-man team for his final competition, and Randal Kolo Muani has been left out of France’s World Cup roster.

Although he was instrumental in France’s last two international championships, Kolo Muani has struggled at Tottenham, who are battling relegation in the Premier League.

2. Eduardo Camavinga

Real Madrid star Eduardo Camavinga has also been left out of France’s World Cup roster. For Camavinga, the 2025–26 season has been a nightmare, he has only made 23 starts.

The midfielder has been unable to establish himself within the Real Madrid lineup due to injuries, inconsistent play, and a lack of consistent playing time. To exacerbate the situation, the Spanish powerhouses have not not won any significant trophies this term.

Due to an Achilles tendon tear in April 2026, Hugo Ekitike is not part of France‘s 2026 World Cup team. The attacker for Liverpool will miss the rest of the season and the World Cup due to the injury he picked up during a UEFA Champions League match against PSG.
