Poland vs Austria: All-time head-to-head record | Euro 2024

Both teams suffered defeats in their opening Euro 2024 matches.
After a fantastic header from Adam Buksa gave Poland the lead against the Netherlands on Sunday, it seemed that Robert Lewandowski’s absence would not be a problem in Euro 2024.
Wout Weghorst’s winning goal for Oranje was well-deserved, although Michal Probierz’s squad had early luck on their side before they were finally pegged back at the half-hour mark.
Probierz will still be satisfied with several aspects of the performance, such as hitting seven shots on goal against elite opponents and they also gave the Netherlands 21 attacks in contrast.
Before facing France on Monday night, Austria had been on their own extended winning streak, having escaped loss in seven straight games.
Max Wober’s own goal in the first half put an end to that run as France fought their way to a well-earned victory in Dusseldorf.
Since then, Kylian Mbappe’s fractured nose has dominated the news, overshadowing Austria’s valiant effort, which kept Les Bleus in the hunt until the very end.
Ralf Rangnick would have secretly agreed that getting a point would have been a bonus, with their final two group games receiving most of the attention. For them, it is Poland up next in the Euro 2024 matchday 2.
