All teams will play at the same time tonight.
Each of the 36 teams have played seven games so far in the league stage of the Champions League 2024-25, and many are still unsure of their futures going into tonight’s mayhem. Today we will see a lot of teams’ fate in the tournament, whether they are vying for a knockout play-off berth or automatic passage to the Round of 16.
The only teams that are going into the Champions League Matchday 8 tonight with ease are Barcelona and Liverpool as they have been qualified for the Round of 16.
Tonight Manchester City will be the centre of attention. After a turbulent season, the 2022–2023 UCL winners might be eliminated if they fail to win, but they are aware that a win against Club Brugge at home will guarantee their spot in the play-off round.
Paris Saint-Germain will also be closely watched by many. After some lacklustre performances in the competition, they are among the other European powerhouses on the verge of elimination, and their final matchup is against the fierce Stuttgart.
Even though it’s extremely unlikely at this point, Real Madrid could still finish in the top eight if they defeat French overachievers Brest in their final match. To finish as high as possible, they will still be aiming for a huge victory.
Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, and Bayern Munich are all certain of a place in the playoffs, but their chances of finishing in the top eight are stacked against them. But all three have winnable home matchups at the end.
This year’s redesigned spectacle has never failed to excite and here is how we think Champions League Matchday 8 will go.
