Premier League Golden Glove: List of all winners

Every year, a goalkeeper wins the Golden Glove for his excellent performance.

The goalie who has maintained the most clean sheets in the Premier League is given the league’s Golden Glove, an annual association football (FA) honour. If a team’s defence or goalie stops their opponents from scoring any goals throughout a game, they are referred to as “keeping a clean sheet” in football.

From the start of the 2004–05 campaign to the 2015–16 season, it was known as the Barclays Glove for sponsorship reasons. From the 2017–18 season until the 2019–20 season, it was known as the Cadbury Golden Glove. It was marketed as the Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Glove for the 2020–21 season and as the Castrol Golden Glove for the 2021–22 season.

Originally, only one player would win the Golden Glove; in the event of a tie, the honour went to the goalie with the best clean sheets-to-games ratio. But starting in the 2013–14 campaign, goalkeepers with an equal number of clean sheets, regardless of how many games they played, share the Golden Glove.

Chelsea’s Petr Čech received the first Premier League glove in 2005. The current best record is still Čech’s 24 clean sheets in a single season. Čech is the only goalkeeper to have earned the award with two separate sides (Chelsea and Arsenal). He and Joe Hart have won it the most times since 2005, each with four victories.

The first goalie to win the Premier League Golden Glove award twice in a row was Pepe Reina, who accomplished this feat in three straight seasons from 2005 to 2008.

Edwin van der Sar achieved fourteen clean sheets in a row during the 2008–09 season, surpassing Čech’s previous mark of ten.
