PSG looking to offer manager Luis Enrique lifetime contract: Report

New details on Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique’s future have surfaced in Spanish media. Since the arrival of Enrique, PSG have transformed into one of Europe’s most formidable sides.

The management of the Parisian club is reportedly thinking of rewarding their boss with an extraordinary contract extension, without revealing the financial details, according to the Spanish daily (AS).

With this action, PSG hope to firmly settle the issue of their coach’s future, create long-term athletic stability, and strengthen the team’s genuine winning culture.

PSG want to award Luis Enrique a lifetime contract

The Spanish manager feels secure, supported, and thoroughly content at the club, while the Parisian management is completely content with his job.

This move follows Paris Saint-Germain’s record season, which culminated with the team winning six major trophies, including the UEFA Super Cup, Ligue 1, and the UEFA Champions League.

Notably, Luis Enrique’s contract with PSG was already extended until 2027 in February of last year. However, despite his contract until 2027, PSG hope to keep the former FC Barcelona head coach at the club forever.

Luis Enrique has changed the fortunes of the club and turned them into a ruthless side that finally achieved their ultimate glory of winning the Champions League.

Moreover, PSG became the third club to win a sextuple after lifting the FIFA Intercontinental Cup by beating Flamengo on penalties. This season as well, the French club have maintained their impressive form and are among the favourites to lift the Champions League.

Luis Enrique joined the club in 2023. In his first season as their manager, he took them to the Champions League semi-final, where they lost to Borussia Dortmund.

However, in his second season, they took the final step and achieved the most elusive trophy that PSG’s management wanted to add to their trophy cabinet.

Meanwhile, their everlasting dominance in the league continues. Although this season they have faced challenges from other clubs, they are second in the table, a point below first-place RC Lens.
