RB Leipzig reject Barcelona's latest offer for Dani Olmo

Bundesliga side was not happy with the ‘fixed’ sum that the Spanish giants offered.
It seems like Barcelona will once again have to come up with an enhanced deal to satisfy RB Leipzig. The German club have turned down the club’s second offer for Dani Olmo.
The Catalan side have agreed terms with the player and will hand him a six-year contract. The attacking midfielder is also open to joining the team. But the key issue has been reaching an agreement with the German club.
Barcelona’s proposed second bid was around €50m with €15m (£13m/$16m) in add-ons, which was declined by RB Leipzig. This comes after the club seem to have pulled out of the signing of Nico Williams, who took weeks to make his decision. It’s likely that he will continue at Athletic Bilbao.
They are now focusing on signing Dani Olmo. Olmo enjoyed an excellent Euro 2024, scoring three goals, providing an assist and also helping Spain clinch the trophy.
His performance has seen him become one of the hot properties in the transfer market, with the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea also expressing interest. But Barcelona seem to be leading the race. Once they strike an agreement with Leipzig, Olmo will be on his way to Spain.
However, RB Leipzig have been unhappy with the way Barcelona have pursued Olmo by offering such a lower fee. They expect the Spanish club to put in a guaranteed €55 million (£46 million or $59 million) and want the majority of it this summer.
Barcelona have not been able to reach the price. But they remain hopeful that a deal can transpire this summer. It’s just a matter of time.
The club have not been very active in the summer window. They are yet to make any major signings due to financial issues. However, we still have a month left before the transfer window shuts down. They can bring in new signings before that.
