Real Betis nearing loan deal for Manchester United flop Antony: Report

The Brazilian last scored for the Red Devils in April.
Antony of Manchester United is nearing a six-month loan to Real Betis. Only the “final details” of the agreement are being discussed.
United have asked for confirmation that head coach Manuel Pellegrini must offer the Brazilian meaningful playing time in order for the transfer to go through.
Fans will be upset that the trade is unlikely to free up finances for an incoming star this month, especially because United are paying part of Antony’s wage and the loan has no buy clause.
The Red Devils will be severely lacking in scoring areas as a result of Antony’s absence for the rest of the campaign. Mason Greenwood has already left, Marcus Rashford has been shunned by the first team, and Jadon Sancho is on loan at Chelsea.
Antony has only managed to score 12 goals and dish out five assists in his 95 games for the Red Devils, leading many to call him one of the most disappointing acquisitions in Premier League history. His future is a subject of increasing conjecture as the January transfer window end draws near, with Real Betis seemingly at the forefront of the race.
According to reports, Betis have made two official offers. Their management is keen to get Antony, but United insist that they will require assurances from the Spanish club about his playing time to make sure his market worth increases while he is on loan.
In an attempt to get the most out of a player whose last Premier League goal was in an April 1-1 draw with Burnley, manager Manuel Pellegrini is hopeful about reviving Antony’s form.
Manchester United must first let go of players to make room for new hires. Alejandro Garnacho is linked to Napoli, while Tyrell Malacia, the left-back, is also anticipated to go. Although the precise club are unknown, reports from the Netherlands indicate that Malacia has the all-clear signal to depart on loan, having already obtained Ruben Amorim’s go ahead.
