The Los Blancos have a big list of injuries.

Real Madrid face Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday night in the hopes of igniting a faltering Champions League campaign at the home of their English rival.

The defending champions remain 18th in the UCL rankings after only collecting a respectable six points from their first four league phase games, most recently losing 3-1 at home to AC Milan.

But when the Blaugrana could only draw with Celta Vigo, Carlo Ancelotti’s team easily defeated Leganes 3-0 in LaLiga over the weekend, reducing their gap to only four points over a struggling Barcelona.

The Los Blancos go into this game without many first-team players and one of the most important absentee will be Vinicius Jr, we take a look at the list of players who will miss the game against Liverpool.

Real Madrid injury update against Liverpool

Real Madrid revealed on Monday morning that Vinicius Jr had suffered a hamstring injury, although they did not say how long he would be unavailable. However, according to sources, he might not be seen for three weeks, which means he won’t be able to play against the Reds.

Ancelotti has stated that the team will make every effort to have Aurelien Tchouameni return on Wednesday despite the fact that he suffered an ankle injury during the loss to Milan.

When questioned about Lucas Vazquez’s likelihood of recovering from a muscular issue concurrently, Ancelotti refused to rule the right-back out of Wednesday’s match against the Reds.

Due to a predicted three-week recovery period, Rodrygo is unlikely to return to action from the muscular injury he incurred against Osasuna on November 9.

In the Blancos hospital, Dani Carvajal is one of three long-term absentees. The Euro 2024 champion sustained an ACL injury in early October and will not return to action this season.

Although David Alaba hasn’t played in nearly a year, the seasoned Austrian should soon be nearing the end of his recuperation from his ACL injury. He hopes to make a comeback in the new year.

Eder Militao, who had another ACL rupture earlier this month after only recovering from the first one, is expected to miss the rest of the season.
