Real Madrid & Liverpool set to hold talks today over Trent Alexander-Arnold's future
The right-back will become a free agent after the end of the season.
Real Madrid and Liverpool will discuss Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future today. Real Madrid are allegedly pressuring the Reds’s captain to make a decision quickly, which has him at the focus of transfer rumours.
He can sign a pre-contract with foreign clubs as early as January 1st since his current contract ends in the summer of next year.
Liverpool supporters are worried by this impending deadline, particularly because the 26-year-old has been connected to the Spanish powerhouses.
Liverpool seem upbeat in spite of the uncertainties. Alexander-Arnold may be offered a record-breaking contract worth more than £400,000 per week by the club, according to reports.
According to club sources, this deal would make him the highest-paid player in the Premier League, demonstrating the team’s determination to retain him.
Alexander-Arnold has had nothing but good things to say about Arne Slot, the new manager of Liverpool. The defender gave Slot credit for his improved game and commended his attention to detail.
With this momentum, club officials expect to complete Alexander-Arnold’s deal before Christmas.
It appears that Alexander-Arnold has the upper hand for the time being. Even if Real Madrid are clearly appealing, Liverpool are still certain that their best player will stick with the Anfield side.
The Madrid-based newspaper repeatedly highlights how well the two teams get along, claiming that Liverpool even called Real Madrid in September to inquire about their interest in Alexander-Arnold. They stated that they would talk about it in person when the two parties met.
Even though there was uncertainty at the time, Real Madrid have decided to spend on the position as a result of Dani Carvajal’s injury.
Since March, Alexander-Arnold has been connected to Real Madrid. Given that he is one of the Reds’ finest and most adored players, it would be shocking if they hadn’t been working hard to negotiate a new contract for the previous six months.
