Los Blancos will host the Bundesliga giants in the quarter-final first leg of the Champions League.

This week, Real Madrid will be the centre of attention as they attempt to bounce back after an unexpected 2-1 loss to Mallorca.

In the opening leg of the Champions League quarterfinals, the record European winners will play Bayern Munich on Tuesday. For coach Alvaro Arbeloa, it seems to be a litmus test.

Real Madrid should play freely in the first leg, but there are some things the players need to be aware of, such as needless bookings.

This is due to the fact that at least six Real Madrid players are currently in danger of missing the second leg matchup with Bayern Munich.

Kylian Mbappe, Aurelien Tchouameni, Jude Bellingham, Dean Huijsen, Vinicius Jr., and Alvaro Carreras are the players in question.

The Champions League’s stringent yellow card regulations, which prohibit a player from participating in a game if they receive three yellow cards, put all of these players at risk of suspension.

Each of these players has already received two yellow cards this UCL season; if they receive a third one on Tuesday, they will not be able to play in the second leg.

This is something the team just cannot afford, especially considering Real Madrid’s current injury crisis. The cumulative yellow cards will be cleaned starting in the semifinals. They would want to avoid making any reservations throughout the quarterfinals.

Until the semifinals, though, none of these players can afford a pointless yellow card. They now run the risk of Real Madrid having few choices in the second leg, which will take place in the hostile Allianz Arena.
