The Brazilian will miss the Liverpool clash.
Real Madrid will not have their star forward Vinicius Jr. for their Champions League trip to Liverpool and for the matches coming up due to a hamstring injury.
The attacker has suffered a left leg injury, which is a major setback for the Spanish powerhouses as they prepare to play the Premier League leaders on Wednesday night.
The club statement reads: “Following tests carried out today by the Real Madrid Medical Services on our player Vini Jr., he has been diagnosed with an injury to the biceps femoris in his left leg. His progress will be monitored.”
Some good news for Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti: Lucas Vazquez, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Rodrygo are all working to return from injury. The two players most likely to remain on the bench for a crucial Champions League match are Arda Guler and Dani Ceballos, who started against Leganes.
The Brazilian helped Kylian Mbappe score Real Madrid’s first goal on the night and played the entire ninety minutes of the match, but he will now be out for a while, including the trip to Anfield.
Real stated on Monday that Vinicius Jr. was “awaiting evaluation” after being “diagnosed with an injury to the femoral biceps of his left leg.”
Because of the exact moment of the problem, he will not be able to play midweek. The femoral bicep is a muscle located at the back of the leg, and any harm done to it can be extremely painful.
Thibaut Courtois returned to action midweek
Thibaut Courtois returned from an adductor injury on Sunday and is expected to start against Liverpool, although Eder Militao, David Alaba, and Dani Carvajal remain still out.
Eight players, featuring two goalkeepers, namely Sergio Mestre, 19, and defender Diego Aguado, 17, were on Ancelotti’s subs bench over the weekend.
Brahim Diaz, Luka Modric, and Endrick entered off the bench, and Fran Garcia played the entire ninety minutes, replacing Ferland Mendy at left-back.
