Real reason why Real Madrid declined to sign Viktor Gyokeres revealed: Report

Gyokeres is currently pursued by many top clubs around Europe.
Real Madrid had the chance to sign Viktor Gyokeres, but they declined, even though Xabi Alonso wanted to add a new striker.
Madrid were given the chance to sign Gyokeres from Sporting CP this summer, according to a report from The Athletic. However, Madrid turned down the offer to sign the Swede, and the reasons behind their decision are now clear.
In addition to announcing the acquisitions of Franco Mastantuono, Dean Huijsen, and Trent Alexander-Arnold, Real Madrid also named Xabi Alonso as their new head coach at the end of May.
The LaLiga powerhouses are keen to capture SL Benficaโs Alvaro Carreras following the FIFA Club World Cup, so more arrivals are probably in the works.
Why Real Madrid do not want to sign Gyokeres?
In order to add aerial danger and physical presence in the box, Alonso also wants to add another striker, a โJoselu-styleโ type. Ante Budimir of Osasuna is reportedly being considered by Madrid.
Gyokeres of Sporting CP, who is well-liked by the team, is one of the players who has been offered to Madrid. But because of the possible expenses and the knowledge that he wonโt be content with a supporting position under Alonso, the Merengues have decided not to pursue the possibility of signing him.
Viktor Gyokeres and Federico Varandas, the president of Sporting CP, are at odds right now after the latter allegedly breached his promise to let the striker depart for โฌ60 million (ยฃ51 million/$69 million).
Man Utd & Arsenal abandon the race to sign Gyokeres
The 27-year-old has been strongly connected to both Manchester United and Arsenal, but they have withdrawn their interest in signing him after Sporting increased their asking price.
A nasty rupture between Gyokeres and Sporting may have put the forwardโs summer transfer to one of Europeโs top teams in jeopardy. After leaving Gyokeres, the Gunners have immediately rekindled their interest in Ollie Watkins, a striker for Aston Villa.
Although the Swedish internationalโs future is still very uncertain, there is hope that things may improve for him in the upcoming weeks.
