Robert Lewandowski sets new record after brace against Dortmund in UCL 2024-25 Quater finals first leg

The Polish striker has 40 goals in all competitions this season.
When Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski faced his old team, Borussia Dortmund, on Wednesday night, he created Champions League history.
In the second half, the seasoned striker gave the Catalan powerhouses their second goal of the evening, marking his tenth Champions League goal overall.
With his goal, Lewandowski became the first player in the history of the competition to score ten goals for three different teams in one season.
Lewandowski is enjoying a prolific season with the club and has stepped up in crucial matches with his experience in the attack.
Only teammate Raphinha has scored more goals in the Champions League during the 2024–25 season than the 36-year-old, who is having another successful season at Barcelona.
When it comes to scoring goals, Lewandowski also sets the standard for LaLiga. With 25 goals in 29 games, the Poland international is well-positioned to win the Pichichi trophy for the second time in his career.
After losing his spark in 2023, the Polish striker appeared to be finished at the highest level, but he is now back on fire.
It was believed that Barcelona would need a new striker in the summer but the club put their money on the Polish striker and he has not disappointed this season making a massive impact since the start of the term.
In the 2012–2013 campaign, Lewandowski scored ten goals for Borussia Dortmund and also reached the final of the competition. He also scored ten goals in the Champions League in the 2021–2022 season for Bayern Munich.
Now wearing the Barcelona uniform, Lewandowski has maintained his strong record. Finally, he scored ten goals for the Spanish club in the competition and continued to lead the attacking line this campaign.
Lewandowski is just one goal away from reaching 100 goals for the Spanish team this season, having already scored 40 goals in all competitions this season.
