Roberto De Zerbi clarifies his future at Marseille amid exit reports

The Italian coach had joined Marseille in 2024.
Following allegations that he had quit after Marseille’s UEFA Champions League elimination, Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed his future with the French team.
Following a 3-0 defeat against Club Brugge and SL Benfica’s thrilling 4-2 victory over Real Madrid, the Ligue 1 team was eliminated from the European competition in the middle of the week. De Zerbi has now corrected the rumours that the Italian had resigned from his position.
Following Marseille’s sad elimination from the Champions League, allegations circulated that head coach De Zerbi was in ‘grave danger’ of being sacked by the French powerhouse and that his job was ‘hanging by a thread’.
The 46-year-old was criticised months ago by former France international Jerome Rothen, who claimed he “couldn’t find the ingredients” to keep Marseille going. Naturally, the former Brighton manager appeared extremely dejected following the Brugge loss.
