Ruben Amorim expected to work with low-cost budget at Manchester United: Report
The Red Devils had spent a big sum under former coach Erik ten Hag.
At Manchester United, Ruben Amorim will have a smaller budget to work with than their former coach Erik ten Hag. His job will be to maximize the team’s unrealized potential as they look to break free from the destructive and expensive cycle of major overhauls.
During his two-and-a-half-year tenure as Manchester United’s manager, Erik ten Hag spent an astounding €660 million on 21 new hires, with little result. The team is keen to cut expenses under Amorim.
Since selecting Amorim as Ten Hag’s permanent replacement, the Red Devils have been linked to a number of players. Nevertheless, the 39-year-old is expected to get a smaller budget than his predecessor.
Manchester United want players like Viktor Gyokeres, Geovany Quenda, Milos Kerkez, and Jarrad Branthwaite, but Amorim won’t have an infinite transfer budget to pull off all of the above deals.
Rasmus Hojlund and Mason Mount have also been mentioned by The Telegraph as two players that Manchester United hope would excel under Amorim after having a lacklustre start to their careers at Old Trafford.
While Mount has only made 26 first-team appearances since signing from Chelsea, mostly because of injury problems, Hojlund has scored 18 goals in 55 games for the squad.
Mainoo is regarded as vital by United’s shareholders, board, and employees, including Amorim, according to Fabrizio Romano.
According to reports, the 19-year-old midfielder’s new contract will be a major talking point in the weeks and months ahead with efforts to tie him down for more years.
With the November international break quickly approaching, discussions are anticipated to pick up speed, and everyone is apparently in a good mood.
According to reports, Manchester United feel that even without significant investment, results would improve since Ten Hag was unable to maximize the performances of the team at his disposal.
Amorim made a big statement in his initial conversation with the club after arriving at Old Trafford.
Amorim told MUTV: “I will try to do everything to put this club in the place that it belongs. And I believe a lot that we are going to succeed. “Manchester United is the engine of the Premier League in my opinion.”
