The Argentine forward could depart Old Trafford by the end of the January window

Despite transfer rumours linking Alejandro Garnacho to Chelsea, Ruben Amorim has stated that he is doing everything in his power to integrate him into his Manchester United system.

Despite the transfer rumours, the Argentine attacker was named in Manchester United’s starting eleven for Sunday’s Premier League match against Fulham. Since Amorim took over at Old Trafford, Garnacho has lost his place; but, on Sunday, he played 81 minutes before Kobbie Mainoo took his place.

When asked about Garnacho’s future at the Red Devils after the game, the manager acknowledged that he is looking for the best position for the young winger in his system, but he did not provide a firm response about whether the player will stay.

Christopher Nkunku of Chelsea has drawn interest from United, and there have been rumours that the team may transfer Garnacho the opposite way to sign the Frenchman.

When asked about Garnacho’s future, the Portuguese coach told reporters:

“That, nobody knows. Anything can happen. He is improving in every part of the game: the understanding, when to defend. I am trying to find the best position for him, today he played a bit open, not so inside. We need guys who can play one v one.”

Garnacho’s status in Amorim’s project is still up in the air. United now return to action on Thursday night when they play FCSB in their last Europa League league stage match.

Alejandro Garnacho is linked with a move away from Old Trafford

In an effort to raise money to improve Ruben Amorim’s struggling team, the Red Devils are considering transfer offers for those players where they can profit big sums.

According to reports, Manchester United will allow Alejandro Garnacho to depart this month provided the team receives an offer of £60 million before the deadline. Chelsea and Napoli are leading the competition to sign the 20-year-old winger, with United’s Premier League rivals reportedly gaining ground in the last week.
