United are currently languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table.
With each defeat in the Premier League, Ruben Amorim’s days as Manchester United manager appear numbered. Reports suggest that the club will finally decide on his future if they continue their poor form.
Despite their 1-0 defeat to Arsenal in their opening game of the season, there were some signs that they had improved significantly from last season. However, as the campaign progressed, it was the same old United, who have been toothless.
Moreover, the team’s subdued performance has also been reflected upon manager Ruben Amorim’s system, as there have been reports that the players have failed to give their utmost under his philosophy.
Questions have been raised, and in many interviews, the former Sporting CP manager has been insistent that he will continue with the same style. But things have changed.
Ruben Amorim speaks on changing his system

However, in a recent interview with TNT Sports, Ruben Amorim has hinted that he could consider changing his system once the players transition into his current one. He said:
“I always say the same, it will evolve, that we will CHANGE the system but it takes more time to transition from one system to another. I try to coach the team in the way I see football.”
Many feel that United’s poor performance has been attributed to his system. The players have found it difficult adjusting to his formation, resulting in United flattering to deceive.
The Red Devils are currently 14th in the league table. They have won only twice in six matches so far in the Premier League. They have continued to fare poorly even though it was thought that Ruben Amorim would be able to transform the club’s fortunes.
It will be interesting to see if the Portuguese manager will consider changing his style and see if the players need a different system to deliver positive outcomes.
Which formation does Ruben Amorim use?
He uses the 5-2-3 formation.
Why are players finding it hard to adjust to his system?
It doesn’t encourage players to take numerous touches and dribble freely to beat their opponents.
Will he change his system?
He hasn’t said he is ready to change it, but he might consider if they continue to lose games.
