Scotland announce squad for November football international break

The Scots will face Croatia and Poland in the UEFA Nations League.
For Scotland’s upcoming Nations League games against Croatia and Poland, a number of regulars, notably vice-captain John McGinn, will return. Tommy Conway, Jack Hendry, Greg Taylor, Scott McKenna and Lawrence Shankland also make a comeback.
After a late call-up for the 0-0 draw at home against Portugal, uncapped Rangers midfielder Connor Barron keeps his spot, while Ipswich Town goalkeeper Cieran Slicker, who has 17 caps at the under-21 level, is selected first. Despite hobbling out of Torino’s loss to Fiorentina on Sunday, Che Adams has also been called up.
Three days after Croatia’s November 15 visit to Hampden, the tour comes to a finale in Warsaw, where they will face Poland.
With one point from four games, Scotland are at the bottom of the Group A1, three points behind Poland, who triumphed 3-2 in Glasgow in the first round of play. Last month, Croatia defeated Scotland 2-1 in Zagreb.
Along with Liam Lindsay, Andy Irving, Jon McCracken, and Jack MacKenzie—another late call for the October matches—James Forrest has been withdrawn.
Due to injury, Kieran Tierney, Aaron Hickey, Angus Gunn, and Kevin Nisbet are not playing at the moment. Lewis Ferguson, who just rejoined the Bologna first squad following a six-month layoff, is not featured in the squad. The same is true for Nathan Patterson, who has returned to the Everton team but hasn’t played yet this year.
Scotland’s hopes of progressing further in the competitions now depend on these two crucial matches as a defeat in either of them will them eliminated from the tournament.
