Serbia score last minute goal to draw 1-1 with Slovenia: Euro 2024

Luka Jovic scored last minute goal to hand Serbia a point.
At the Allianz Arena in Munich on Thursday, the Euro 2024 Group C match between Slovenia and Serbia ended in a 1-1 draw.
Right-back Zan Karnicnik gave his team the lead in the 69th minute after a scoreless and competitive first half, but Luka Jovic gave Serbia a late parity.
Ivan Ilic of Serbia took a free kick in the 90+5th minute, which proved to be the game’s final play. Luka Jovic drove the ball towards the net, stunning Jan Oblak between the goalie sticks as the player headed it in.
Halfway into the second half in Munich, Zan Karnicnik appeared to have given Slovenia the lead, but Jovic levelled the score for Serbia with a corner kick in the fifth minute of added time.
A few minutes later, Aleksandar Mitrovic came dangerously close to equalising, but a last-ditch stop deflected his shot into the crossbar.
Slovenia were poised to maintain their lead in the group if they had prevailed. But Jovic gave his side a late advantage.

Serbia started the tournament with a 1-0 defeat against England but were the better side throughout the match but their lack of clinical saw them fall to an agonising defeat.
Meanwhile, for Slovenia, they suffered the same fate against the Danes as they drew 1-1 in their Euro 2024 opening match. Now both teams will be attempting to win their next game if they hope to secure the last 16 spot.
Meanwhile, the Three Lions will aim to win their second game and further solidify their position in the first spot when they meet Denmark in Group C.
