Gareth Southgate and Co’s first test will be Serbia.
All eyes will be on the Veltins-Arena as tournament favourites England open their Euro 2024 campaign against Serbia.
Two-time runners-up of the European Championships in 1960 and 1968 during their Yugoslavia days, Serbia are making a debut of sorts at this year’s edition, having never before qualified for the quadrennial continental gathering as an independent nation.
Serbia are a tough team to beat for sure. They are an attack-minded team willing to commit numerous bodies to every attack. They have some top attacking players in their team and will be a tough challenge for other teams to stop them.
Last-time runner-ups England will look to start their campaign with a win for sure, even though their last friendly match result was very disappointing 1-0 defeat to Iceland. The Three Lions have players who can make a difference in these big matches. This will be an exciting match for sure.
Players to Watch
Aleksandar Mitrovic (Serbia)

Phil Foden (England)
Phil Foden’s passing range and vision enable him to unlock defences and create scoring opportunities for his teammates. In addition, Foden has shown exceptional finishing capabilities, making him a potent goal-scoring threat from midfield. Foden’s passing range and vision are exceptional.
He possesses the ability to pick out teammates with pinpoint accuracy, whether it’s a short, incisive pass or a long, cross-field switch of play. He will be a player to watch at this Euro 2024 tournament.
