South Africa squad for November international break; Percy Tau left out

Bafana Bafana will face South Sudan and Uganda in AFCON qualifiers.
The final 23-man roster for South Africa’s CAF 2025 AFCON qualifiers against South Sudan and Uganda in November has been revealed by coach Hugo Broos.
On Thursday, November 7, 2024, the SABC television studios in Auckland Park hosted the team selection. A week ago, Broos announced the 38-player preliminary Bafana Bafana squad and then reduced it to 23 players.
For the AFCON qualifiers, South Africa are grouped with Congo, South Sudan, and Uganda in Group K. On Friday, November 15, Bafana will play Uganda away from home. Four days later, they will play South Sudan at Cape Town Stadium.
Under the guidance of Belgian coach Broos, South Africa are only two points away from earning their second consecutive AFCON qualification.
With eight points, Broos’ team now sit in second place in Group K. After four games, they trail group toppers Uganda by just two points.
The top two nations in the group will guarantee their spots at the AFCON in 2025. Morocco will host the competition from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
Fifteen players were excluded from Broos’ final team. Ricardo Goss, Bradley Cross, Thabang Matuludi, Thabiso Sesane, and Grant Kekana are among those 15 players.
Moreover, the likes of Percy Tau, Sipho Mbule, Ashley Cupido, Yanela Mbuthuma, Devin Titus, Tshegofatso Mabasa, Sinoxolo Kwayiba, Ndamulelo Maphangule, Bongokuhle Hlongwane, and Jayden Adams were also left out from the final roster.
