The Swiss will face Denmark and Spain in the Nations League.
Switzerland have announced their squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League games. The Swiss have made changes in defence this time, and the veteran goalkeeper Yann Sommer, who announced retirement after the Euro 2024, has seen other goalkeepers get a chance in his place.
Meanwhile, the attack and midfield remain unchanged as it was in the Euro squad, where Switzerland lost in the quarterfinal after being one of the best teams in the tournament.
The Swiss have always surprised fans with their performance be it any competition. In the last Euro, they held Germany 1-1 and in the round of 16, they eliminated Euro 2020 winners Italy.
However, their competition came to an abrupt end after they lost to the Three Lions in the last eight on penalties, but their displays always kept the expectations high from them in every competition.
Now they will have a chance to make the most out of this tournament when they play their first game in the Nations League against Denmark, and then three days later they will face the Euro 2024 winners, Spain.
With their second game against Spain, there is a good possibility for them to pull off a shock, which is something manager Murat Yakin will be hoping his team does once more as they are always the underdogs who tend to punish big European teams.
