Switzerland face Italy for place in Quarterfinals.

Switzerland finished second in their Euro 2024 Group A behind Germany to secure their place in the last 16. Murat Yakin’s side have put on excellent defensive displays so far. Every winning team needs to have a solid defensive foundation to build on.

However, goalscoring has been an issue for the team after they managed to score two goals in the last two matches. Switzerland have a good squad at their disposal which can take on any side in the competition. It remains to be seen how they fare against the reigning champions.

Italy will begin their knockout rounds against the Swiss, one of the tournament’s best sides. The Azzurri endured a mixed campaign in the group, as they finished in second position in Group B. Luciano Spalletti’s men gathered one win, one draw and one loss in three matches.

They put on an excellent display against Croatia in the last match to secure their passage further into the competition. Spalletti will have to do without the impressive Riccardo Calafiori in this match after his match-winning performance against the Checkered Ones.
