Teddy Sheringham says Cristiano Ronaldo 'would bite your hand off' for Manchester City move

The Portuguese has been linked with a few clubs to play in the Club World Cup in the summer.

Teddy Sheringham claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo would “bite your hand off” to play for Manchester City in the FIFA Club World Cup.

The clubs participating are being given a special transfer window to conduct business during the summer of 2025 when that expanded competition takes place after the end of the season. Short-term agreements are permitted, and players can be signed to contracts that are only a few weeks long.

Inter Miami have been reported to be interested in signing Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo to such a deal. It would enable him to play with longtime adversary Lionel Messi for the first time in their record-breaking careers.

Premier League powerhouse City are also going to the CWC. But they are currently worried about how healthy their star striker Erling Haaland will be. The prolific Norwegian forward is recovering from an ankle injury that may prevent him from competing for more trophies.

Would Pep Guardiola be persuaded to try to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, the legend of Manchester United? When asked the question, former Red Devils forward Sheringham told casinoapps.com:

“I mean, Man United fans wouldn’t be happy. If the figures add up, Ronaldo would probably jump at the chance. He can definitely score a goal, can’t he? That, there’s no denying.

“Yeah, they looked a little bit lost without their focal point (in the Manchester derby), didn’t they? They didn’t have that same flow to their team, but I don’t know.

“Wow, I’ve not even thought about that, Ronaldo would definitely be excited by it. That would be funny. I bet if you offered him the chance to go to Man City, he would bite your hand off.”

The greatest of all time at 40, Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract with Al-Nassr, a Saudi Pro League team, is currently coming to an end. Although an extension is anticipated, the agreement may be finalized following the Club World Cup, which CR7 has won four times in total with United and Real Madrid.
