The winter transfer window will shut down today.

The January window transfer deadline day is the final opportunity for relegation-threatened teams, European contenders, and title contenders to bolster their rosters as the next window opens after the end of the season.

On Monday, February 3, the Premier League transfer windows close at 11:00 p.m. GMT, 4:30 a.m. IST, and teams hoping to bolster their rosters are expected to engage in a flurry of late action.

Marcus Rashford, whose loan transfer to Aston Villa was completed on Sunday, was one of the most prominent names who made a move.

Alejandro Garnacho, another forward for Manchester United, is linked to Chelsea and Napoli, so he also could leave.

Which deals could take place?

Marco Asensio, a midfielder from Spain, will join Aston Villa on loan from Paris St-Germain till the end of the current campaign.

Manchester City wants to recruit Nico Gonzalez, a midfielder for Porto, but according to Portuguese sources, City’s offer for the 23-year-old former Barcelona player has already been rejected.

Everton have reached an agreement with Flamengo, a Brazilian team to recruit Carlos Alcaraz, a midfielder, on loan.

Crystal Palace are set to sign England defender Ben Chilwell on loan from Chelsea.

Which deals have already transpired in the transfer window?

Manchester City have previously acquired three high-profile players: Vitor Reis (£29.6 million), Abdukodir Khusanov (£33.6 million), and Omar Marmoush (£59 million) from Eintracht Frankfurt.

In a deal for up to £71 million, 21-year-old striker Jhon Duran of Aston Villa has joined Al-Nassr of the Saudi Pro League.

Manchester United have acquired England Under-19s player Ayden Heaven from Arsenal for a price unknown, and Denmark defender Patrick Dorgu from Lecce for £25 million.

Paris St-Germain acquired Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for an estimated £59 million, making him the second-biggest January acquisition in history, after Marmoush.

Which other Premier League clubs could sign a player on deadline day?

Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, claims that he is “actively looking” to recruit a striker who can “make an impact” during the January transfer window, but it has been difficult to identify the ideal target.

Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig and Matheus Cunha of Wolves, who recently inked a new deal at Molineux, have both been suggested as possible targets.

But will Arsenal be able to close a deal in the short term?

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to add another defender player, and reports have linked them to Chelsea’s France international Axel Disasi and AC Milan’s England defender Fikayo Tomori.

French forward Mathys Tel of Bayern Munich recently turned down the chance to join Tottenham and agreed to personal terms with United, but the Red Devils are yet to strike a deal with the German club.
