The English full-back has agreed to join the Spanish club as per a reliable Spanish source.
According to rumours in Spanish media and newspapers, Trent Alexander-Arnold has completed his transfer to Real Madrid, and Carlo Ancelotti’s team will now decide whether to make the move in the winter window or the summer.
Alexander-Arnold, a 26-year-old defender for Liverpool, has his contract expiring at the end of the current campaign along with Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah, has been the focus of a lot of conjecture lately in the Premier League.
The players can talk to foreign teams about coming on a free transfer in the summer, but Liverpool are still in talks with all three stars and little progress has been achieved as the months go by.
Alexander-Arnold’s future is currently under intense scrutiny with the 26-year-old being strongly linked to Real Madrid, whose £20 million approach was turned down earlier in the transfer season.
The Liverpool defender has now verbally consented to a transfer to the Bernabeu; the only question now is when the deal will actually happen, according to Spanish publication Marca.
If the England international waits until the summer, he may sign with Madrid for free, but the Spanish team is still interested in signing him in January.
Los Blancos are also in a race to sign Alphonso Davies
Additionally, Madrid are planning a move for Bayern Munich full-back Alphonso Davies while pursuing a deal for Alexander-Arnold.
The Bundesliga powerhouses’ current contract negotiations for an extension have long stalled with the Canadian left-back, whose contract ends in the summer.
Real Madrid are the favourite to get Davies on a free transfer at the end of the current campaign, but he is now free to speak with teams outside of Germany.
According to the outlets, Davies’ talks about a deal at Bayern have not advanced, and Madrid are certain that he will rather sign a deal with them. Since joining Bayern in 2018, Davies has participated in 218 games and scored 12 goals for the team.
Alexander-Arnold, on the other hand, has not spoken out about his future; his final remarks on the subject were made in September.
