USA vs Bolivia: All-time head-to-head record | Copa America 2024

USA will participate in this competition for the second time.
Expectations for the Americans at the Copa America are higher than they have ever been going into this competition as FIFA’s 11th-ranked team.
The United States are taking part in the competition for the first time since they hosted the major event in 2016 and finished fourth, which was their joint-best result ever.
With just one loss against a CONMEBOL opponent since September 2019 (3-0 against Colombia in June), the United States seem to have the best chance of ending the record as no team outside of South America have ever captured this championship.
Bolivia, who are ranked 84th in CONMEBOL and have lost its previous three international matches by a combined score of 7-1, are not expected to do well in this tournament.
While playing for Brazil in 1999, Antonio Carlos Zago won this tournament. However, his first international managing assignment did not go well, as he lost five of his seven games in command.
It would be a success for Bolivia to even secure a point in the Copa America this year, considering that they had lost their last 11 group stage matches since 2015.
Although Bolivia have won eight straight games when taking the lead, they have lost their last two Copa America games following a lead, most recently against Paraguay in 2021 (a 3-1 defeat).
Bolivia’s latest triumph over a CONCACAF rival came in a friendly encounter in January 2022, where they defeated Trinidad and Tobago 5-0.
