Vinicius Jr promises to help Kylian Mbappe win LaLiga Golden Boot

Robert Lewandowski is currently the top scorer in the league.

In addition to reflecting on his Ballon d’Or defeat, Vinicius Jr is committed to helping Kylian Mbappe win the LaLiga Golden Boot.

With more than 100 goals for Los Blancos, three domestic titles and a handful of Champions League triumphs under his belt, the Brazil international has established himself as a talisman at Santiago Bernabeu. When Mbappe first arrived in the Spanish city, he had to switch positions since Vinicius was so crucial to the team.

World Cup champion Mbappe is playing as a centre striker since Vinicius is on the left wing. After moving to Madrid, it took him some time to get used to the demands of that position, but he has now scored 19 goals this season, 12 of which have come in the top division of Spain.

Vinicius told TNT Sports Brazil of the team’s combined efforts to win the Pichichi Trophy, despite Mbappe being behind Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski by four goals.

“We [Vinicius, Mbappe and Rodrygo] are the three forwards, we have the obligation to score goals, give assists, and the truth is that we’re really happy with Kylian.

“The beginnings are always tough, but he has adapted well, and Kylian is such a great player that even while adapting, he’s scored a lot of goals. Rodrygo and I are going to do everything we can to make him the top scorer in all competitions, because he came here for that.”

Despite winning LaLiga and the Champions League with 24 goals last season, Manchester City player Rodri, who won Euro 2024, defeated Vinicius for the 2024 Ballon d’Or. It didn’t go well with him. Los Blancos even boycotted the award as no player attended the ceremony.

After 20 matches so far into the season, Real Madrid lead their neighbours, Atletico Madrid, by one point on the table. Los Blancos have registered 14 goals in their past three games across all competitions since losing to El Clasico rivals Barca 5-2 in the Super Cup.
