Virgil van Dijk's 300 Liverpool appearances: Full Breakdown

The Dutchman has established himself as the Reds’ best centre-back.
In a 4-1 thumping of Ipswich on Saturday, Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk made his 300th appearance for the team at Anfield, marking an incredible milestone.
After appearing in 300 games, the Reds’ skipper now has more victories overall than any other player in the team’s history. The triumph over Ipswich was the Dutchman’s 209th overall victory while wearing a Liverpool shirt.
Following a £75 million transfer from Southampton, the 33-year-old joined Liverpool in January 2018 and has since collected seven significant titles during his tenure, including the Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League title in 2021—the team’s first top-flight victory in 30 years. In the 2018–19 season, he also won the PFA Players’ of the Year award and came in second to Lionel Messi for the Ballon d’Or.
Van Dijk has been essential to the team’s successful start to this campaign under new manager Arne Slot, with the Reds standing atop the Premier League, six points clear of Arsenal. Plus they have one game in hand.
Liverpool have also advanced to the round of 16 with one game remaining after winning all seven of their Champions League games this season.
The defender’s contract is slated to end this summer, and the club have not yet agreed to a contract extension. So his time at Liverpool is still uncertain after this season.
Following Saturday’s 4-1 victory over Ipswich, Van Dijk stated: “There will be a day one day when I reflect on everything that’s happened to me at Liverpool. Then I’ll have a proper think about what stands out.
“Hopefully there are still good things to come. I have no idea (how many more appearances I’ll make). How many left this season? Hopefully, those are guaranteed and then I don’t know what the future will bring.”
