West Ham United in talks with Al-Ittihad to sign former Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante

Kante is said to be open to a Premier League move.
N’Golo Kante could return to the Premier League as West Ham United are keen on signing the former Chelsea midfielder. Negotiations between Al-Ittihad and the East London club are ongoing.
Kante left Chelsea in the 2023 summer. After the Blues overhauled their squad under new owners, the Frenchman was sold to Saudi side Al-Ittihad. However, his surprise inclusion in France’s squad for Euro 2024 saw the midfielder display excellent performances.
Kante won two Man of The Match awards at the Euros. His performances at the continental competition might have tempted the Hammers to sign the 33-year-old, who might once again return to the league.
Moreover, the former Blues star is open to a move back to the English top-flight. West Ham might have to pay around £20m in order to acquire his services.
West Ham have strived to find a replacement for Declan Rice ever since he left for Arsenal. In January, they landed Kalvin Phillips on loan, who was poor throughout his short spell. Now, the Hammers have identified Kante as an ideal player who can fill the void.
Kante showed at Euro 2024 that he boasts plenty of quality needed for top-level games and could be a perfect signing for them. New manager Julen Lopetegui has been an admirer of Kante. He even wanted to sign him during his short stint at Real Madrid.
West Ham were also interested in signing Aleix García, but he opted to join Bayer Leverkusen. However, the Kante deal makes more sense because he has Premier League experience.
Kante had been playing in the league for eight years after he joined Leicester City from Caen. At the Foxes, after winning his first league title, he rose to prominence. He then joined Chelsea, where he further established himself.
