The England international is linked with a return to the Premier League.

Harry Kane, the captain of England, has a release provision in his contract with Bayern Munich that might eventually allow him to rejoin the Premier League or any other club in Europe.

In the summer of 2023, Kane moved from Tottenham to the Bundesliga team in a  £100 million deal. However, it has now come to light that the striker’s contract contains a buy-out clause that any club can exercise.

According to German reports, the option could have been triggered for £67 million during the most current winter transfer window, with the price scheduled to drop to £54 million in January of next year.

However, as per the reports Kane is content in Germany for now and has no plans to leave the club anytime soon.

Will Kane return to the Premier League in the summer?

However, if Kane shows a willingness to return to England, the provision will alert several Premier League clubs, in addition to other clubs worldwide, who would be interested in bringing the prolific scorer back.

If the England captain shows signs of leaving the German club many top sides would not leave a chance to bring the prolific striker.

If that’s the case, Bayern won’t really have to even agree to sell Kane. The striker gives the go-ahead then a deal can transpire. However, it would be too soon to leave the Bundesliga club given this is Kane’s second season only.

He will be hoping to at least end his trophy curse with them before considering his future. Moreover, Bayern will have to first find a replacement and bring in another prolific striker if they are to sell Kane (without the buyout clause).

Tottenham might be able to match the offer, though, if a rival team were to ever activate his Bayern release clause. With 213 Premier League goals, Kane is only 47 goals short of Alan Shearer’s record.

Kane would be open to the chance of beating Shearer’s long-standing record at some point since he knows the monument is within reach. However, Kane is currently totally focused on capturing his first career trophy with Bayern this season.
