The Egyptian has been in electric form for the Reds this season.

When Liverpool play Leicester City in the English Premier League on Thursday, December 26, Mohamed Salah will try to reach another major milestone. Ahead of the Boxing Day match, the prolific Liverpool forward is only one goal away from becoming one of the all-time great Premier League goal-scorers based on his home form.

Fans will be cheering for Salah to achieve yet another noteworthy milestone. With one more goal, against Leicester City on Thursday night, Salah will reach a total of 100 Premier League goals at home.

In the Premier League era, only seven players have scored 100 goals at home. The Egyptian will become the fifth-fastest player overall if he scores against the Foxes, becoming the only other Liverpool player to reach this milestone, in just 142 games. He will also join the list of several iconic names in the process.

Salah has dominated the 2024–25 season, topping the English Premier League’s scoring and assists charts, despite the off-field rumours surrounding his contract.

In Liverpool’s most recent 6-3 thumping of Tottenham Hotspur, Salah scored twice and provided two assists. He was the first player in the top division of English football to reach 10+ goals and 10+ assists before Christmas.

Now the former AS Roma player will have another mark in mind to establish when the Reds host the Foxes on one of the big occasions of the Premier League. This will be the seventh time Liverpool are at the top of the league on Christmas Day and hopefully will sustain their form until the end of the season to win the title.

Alan Shearer, a former striker for Newcastle United, scored 100 goals at home in just 91 league games, while Thiery Henry and Sergio Aguero did the same in 113 and 125 games, respectively. A hundred league goals have also been scored at home by Robbie Fowler, Wayne Rooney, Andy Cole, and most recently, Harry Kane. Will Salah join the lot on Boxing Day? Time will tell.
