The Brazilian is expected to undergo a medical test soon

After terminating his contract with the Saudi Pro League team Al Hilal, Neymar has returned to Santos, where he initially broke through in 2009.

32-year-old Neymar played for Santos before joining Spanish LaLiga powerhouse Barcelona in 2013. From 2017 to 2023, he was the star of Paris Saint-Germain, a team in Ligue 1. In 2023, Neymar joined Al-Hilal. He made seven appearances during his injury-plagued tenure with the Saudi club, scoring one goal.

After being relegated from Serie A, Santos won the Brasileiro Serie B in their last season. In 2024 November gained promotion back to Serie A.

Numerous elements influence Neymar’s possible comeback to Santos. He had injuries during his tenure at Al-Hilal, which made it difficult for him to perform consistently and ultimately resulted in his expulsion from the Saudi league. He probably sought a new beginning with the club he considers home as a result of this circumstance.

Headlines are dominated by speculation over his debut as the sporting world has been rocked by Neymar’s comeback, and Santos supporters are ecstatic.

When can Neymar make his Santos debut?

Santos are set to play tonight in the Campeonato Paulista against São Bernardo, a state-level tournament and it’s uncertain that Neymar will play in the game given he is yet to give medical and presented as the official signing by the club.

However, reports reveal that the Brazilian is set to undergo a medical test on Thursday and if everything is completed on time then we can see the former Barcelona star appear in the upcoming game.

On February 1, Santos will play another Campeonato Paulista game against Sau Paulo. Even though it isn’t as famous as the Brasileirão, Neymar might make his debut and get back to full fitness before taking on more difficult opponents.

The Brazilian is likely to make his debut on February 1 for his childhood club once again if everything goes as per the plan. If not then Neymar might have to make his debut on February 5th, where Santos will play a third Paulista match against Botafogo.
