The Brazilian might not feature for the national team in the November international break.

Neymar is unlikely to return to the Brazil national team until March 2025 as the team medical team feels the forward is still way behind in his full recovery from his ACL injury.

The 32-year-old finally returned to action for Al Hilal when they played Al Ain in the AFC Champions League Elite. Neymar came as a substitute and led the Saudi side to a 5-4 win against Al Ain.

Neymar who suffered an ACL injury last year during a match for Brazil spent the entire season on the sidelines but finally made his return. However, as per Brazil’s national team, he is still not fully recovered and it’s unlikely he will be called up for the national team’s 2026 CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying games in November.

It is revealed that the medical team of Brazil under the tutelage of Dr Rodrigo Lasmar are keeping an eye on Neymar’s progress. They don’t want to rush the player for national team games and want him to play matches for the club before they feel he is fully fit to feature for the Selecao.

This could mean that Neymar won’t play for Brazil until March 2025. Neymar though can only play in competitions apart from the Saudi Pro League such as the AFC Champions League and King Cup of Champions.

He cannot take part in Saudi Pro League matches as the forward was not registered by Al Hilal. Now he can only be registered when the winter transfer window opens up.

Neymar will miss his side’s massive encounter against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr in the league but will be back in action for the club when they take on Esteghlal FC in the Asian Champions League on November 4.

Recovering from an ACL injury and returning back to full fitness will certainly take a month. Selecao feel that he will need more time to gain his full fitness, which makes sense given the South American matches are aggressive and any poor foul could lead to a major setback.
