The top-tier European competition will start today.
The new UEFA Champions League season will start today. Many teams that have qualified to play in the new league format will have a point to prove once again.
Over the years, the competition has had group stages, which have subsequently been revamped into a league phase where a total of 36 teams now compete, with eight qualifying for the round of 16. Meanwhile, the other clubs that occupy the standings from 9 to 24 get to play in the two-legged knock-out phase play-offs.
More matches have brought more excitement to the tournament, and the fans have been provided extra entertainment in the competition since its modification.
Last season, we witnessed how the games unfolded, and once again, the fans around the world will be hoping that this season’s UCL will have something more spectacular for them.
The competition has never failed to live up to its hype every season, despite the last campaign seeing a different approach in league phase fixtures after the abolition of group stage contests.
With the league phase ending on January 30, fans will have more encounters to watch this time. The knock-outs will begin in February with the knock-out phase play-offs.
Indian fans who have regularly watched European football will once again gear up to watch their favourite club play till late at night.
