The competition now heads to the quarter-finals.

A thrilling UEFA Champions League round of 16 games ended on Wednesday night, leaving just eight teams in the race for European supremacy.

With 36 goals in eight games and a plethora of storylines, including Real Madrid’s crushing of Manchester City and Chelsea’s collapse against the defending champions Paris Saint-Germain, the round of 16 lived up to expectations. While Atletico Madrid hammered Tottenham Hotspur (on aggregate), Bayern Munich also went wild against Atalanta.

Now that the quarterfinals will soon get underway, this is how the Opta supercomputer predicts each team’s odds of winning the Champions League in May.

After Bayern Munich’s win in the first leg, Opta favoured them to win the championship; however, following Tuesday night’s convincing 2-0 victory (in the second leg) against Bayer Leverkusen, it now prefers Arsenal to win their first-ever Champions League title.

The Gunners have a 29.7% chance of winning the top club competition in Europe. Despite a challenging away leg, Mikel Arteta’s team, who were flawless throughout the league phase, easily punched their tickets to the quarterfinals.

With an 18.3% chance of winning the Champions League, Bayern Munich are directly behind the team from North London.

Barcelona’s chances of winning their first European championship since 2015 increased to 15.7% after an amazing 7-2 victory over Newcastle in the second leg at the Camp Nou. Similar to Arsenal, the Catalans’ route to Budapest is far less dangerous and will probably involve a thrilling semifinal matchup with the Gunners.

Meanwhile, PSG boast 11.9% chance of winning the competition for the second time, and Real Madrid have odds of 9.9%.

Opta is less certain that Liverpool will escape the silver side of the bracket. Despite dominating Galatasaray 4-0 at Anfield in the second match, they are given 7.1%.

But as Atlético Madrid can attest, it might be worse. Diego Simeone’s team has a mere 4.4% chance of winning it. The situation of Sporting CP is not much better. The comeback kings have a 3% chance of winning the tournament this year, according to Opta.

Which club have the best chance of winning the competition this season?

Arsenal currently have better odds of winning the trophy.

What are the odds of Barcelona winning the trophy this year?

They have 15.7% chance.
