The England international is also a big fan of Manchester United.
Chelsea talisman Cole Palmer acknowledges that he looked up to Wayne Rooney as an inspiration while supporting Manchester United during his childhood.
Palmer admitted he is a lifelong United supporter and often visited Old Trafford as a child, even though he later spent his early sporting years at Manchester City. The Chelsea star still gets thrilled about playing at the Red Devilsâ renowned stadium at present.
This could be an enough hint for Man Utd to plan a potential move for the forward in future. In response to a question about his childhood idol, he named Wayne Rooney of the United as the one.
âObviously I supported United and he was probably the best player when I was watching them,â said Palmer.
Palmer has emerged as one of the Premier Leagueâs top performers at Chelsea, and United would be thrilled to have a player of his calibre right now. Maybe one day the Red Devils will make a move. The Blues will certainly slap a hefty price on him if that happens.
United have earlier been linked with the player but if they are to seriously consider bringing the forward to Old Trafford then it would take a lot of sum to convince Chelsea to sell their star player in the future.
The England internationalâs addition to Man Utd will be seen as a top acquisition given the forwardâs quality and versatility in playing anywhere in the attacking line.
Palmer has been a hit signing for the west Londoners. In just his first season, his importance grew as he became the most influential player and contributed plenty of goals. Meanwhile, this campaign he has had a slow start but still Palmer is the sixth top scorer in the Premier League so far.
It might be too soon to comment on his potential move to United, but maybe in the foreseeable future, the club might try to bring the player to Old Trafford.
