Who won European Golden Boot for 2024-25 season? Kylian Mbappe or Viktor Gyokeres?

Mbappe set several records with Real Madrid in his debut season.
The race for the European Golden Boot 2024-25 between Kylian Mbappe and Viktor Gyokeres went down to the wire and was decided in the final matchday of the season.
Following an incredible debut campaign for Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappe was awarded the European Golden Shoe for the first time in his career.
The France international scored 42 goals in 55 games across all competitions this season after moving from Paris Saint-Germain to Real Madrid last summer.
The 26-year-old Kylian Mbappe claimed the coveted honour even though his 31 goals in LaLiga trailed Sporting CP’s 39 goals in the Primeira Liga. This is because goals are worth two points for teams in Europe’s top five leagues, compared to 1.5 for teams outside of those divisions, such as the Portuguese one.
With goals earning two points for teams in Europe’s top five league, that puts Mbappe on 62 points, ahead of Gyokeres on 58.5.

Kylian Mbappe set several records with Real Madrid in his debut season
Since Thierry Henry in 2005, Kylian Mbappe is the first French player to win the award. By completing this, he became one of only four footballers in history to win the European Golden Boot, UCL Golden Boot and World Cup Golden Boot.
Additionally, he is the only football player to have won both the Gerd Muller Award (best scoring player in a season) and the Pichichi Trophy (LaLiga top scorer) in a single season.
Additionally, Kylian Mbappe is the first Madrid player to win the Pichichi Trophy in their first season since Ruud van Nistelrooy in 2007.
Mbappe has set numerous records this season, which has helped to validate the reason Los Blancos signed him on a free transfer last summer.
In their first season at the Bernabeu, he recently surpassed the 71-year benchmark set by club great Alfredo Di Stefano for the most LaLiga goals.
Additionally, earlier this month, he also reached the benchmark for the most goals for Real Madrid in their first season, shattering a 33-year record previously held by Ivan Zamorano.
Along with Pruden, Romano and Ronaldo Nazario, he is only the fourth player in LaLiga history to rack up at least 30 goals in their debut campaign.
