Who is the youngest player in history to score on his England debut?

The Three Lions won both of their World Cup qualification matches with ease.
The England national football team took on the Albania national football team in their first match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup UEFA qualifiers. The Three Lions secured an easy 2-0 win as they dominated the proceedings and did not let the ball near their opponents for much longer. Myles Lewis-Skelly scored the opening goal of the game by which he put England ahead.
He also became the youngest player to score on his debut for the England national football team. Myles Lewis-Skelly was assisted by Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham in his debut goal for the Three Lions. It was also the first goal for England under Thomas Tuchel.
Harry Kane was the other goal scorer for England which helped them secure a 2-0 win. After a couple of results in their favour during this International break, the proceedings for Thomas Tuchel have begun on a positive note here.
Although Wayne Rooney is the youngest player to score for England at the age of 17, it was not on his debut. Lewis-Skelly was included in the first team by Thomas Tuchel and scored a goal fearlessly for the Three Lions. Previously it was Marcus Rashford who was the youngest England player to score on his debut for the national team at the age of 18 years and 209 days. Arsenal left-back scored the goal on his debut at the age of 18 years and 176 days and went on to win the Player of the Match award as well.
It was a moment of joy for the young left-back, his teammates and Thomas Tuchel after he scored for the England national football team. The Three Lions also went on to defeat Latvia in the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifier fixture to remain on the top of the Group K points table. Thomas Tuchel’s men will next take on Andorra and Senegal in June 2025 for their upcoming World Cup qualification fixtures.
