The right-back will have to give up on his favourite car after joining Los Blancos.

Trent Alexander-Arnold cannot drive his £130,000 Range Rover to Real Madrid’s practice facility, as the club have a deal with another automobile company. After leaving his boyhood club, Liverpool, as a free agent, the 26-year-old right-back signed a six-year deal, formally joining Los Blancos.

Real Madrid wanted Trent Alexander-Arnold to become part of the team in time for the FIFA Club World Cup later this month, so the LaLiga club paid £8.4 million to release the right-back early from his contract.

But the England star will have to bid farewell to the automobile he has been riding around the UK as he gets to know the rest of Xabi Alonso’s squad. A Range Rover P530 was one of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s favourite cars to drive in Liverpool.

His high-end SUV had a 4.4 V8 twin-turbo engine with a maximum torque of 750 Nm and 530 horsepower. Land Rover charged £130,000 for that model, which is no longer available for purchase.

Together with its all-wheel drive technology and eight-speed automatic transmission, it could accelerate its exceeding 2.5 tonnes body from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds and achieve a top speed of 155 mph.

The athlete would be devastated, however, if he hopes to take the car to Madrid or purchase a comparable model for daily usage in Spain. According to Spanish publication El Motor, this is because Los Blancos’ sponsorship deal with BMW forbids the players from driving any other brand of vehicle to training.

Every year, the Real Madrid team, along with the basketball and women’s teams, receives automobiles from the German automaker to use during the season. Only electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles are covered by the arrangement; BMW will subsequently sell the vehicles as pre-owned vehicles.

The fact that Trent Alexander-Arnold will be able to drive a high-performance SUV like the one he presently owns for free at least will lessen his possible dissatisfaction. Meanwhile, among the club, the players’ most popular option is the sporty BMW XM.
