The Brazilian will not travel to Paris to attend the event.

According to reports, Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr was the favourite to lift the men’s Ballon d’Or 2024 title. But now it has been revealed that the forward and his club will not even be attending the Ballon d’Or 2024 ceremony.

Vinicius Jr, forward for Real Madrid, has declined to go to tonight’s Ballon d’Or event in Paris after he was made aware that he will not win, reports suggest.

According to the Spanish press, none of the players, coaches, or members of the management will be present at tonight’s glamorous celebration at the Theatre du Chatelet.

The shocking announcement follows reports that Vinicius Jr. was the recipient of football’s most prestigious individual award, which was leaked on Sunday.

Unfortunately, this list was incorrect, and Rodri, the midfield for Manchester City, has been declared the winner.

According to RMC, the “Real Madrid delegation has cancelled its visit to Paris” because “Real president Florentino Perez is furious.”

The glamorous awards event on Monday, which is scheduled to start at approximately 7 p.m. (UK time), will officially reveal the new winner.

However, a list that seemed to display the top 12 players based on voting points became popular on social media on Sunday, leading some to speculate that the results were leaked.

According to the unverified list, Vinicius Junior of Real Madrid has 630 points, 54 more than Rodri, a midfielder for Manchester City, who is in second place.

Jude Bellingham is ranked third on the ‘leaked’ list, while two other England players, Phil Foden in eighth place and Harry Kane in fifth, are included in the top eight.

Dani Olmo, Florian Wirtz, Dani Carvajal, and Antonio Rudiger are ranked ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth, respectively, while Kylian Mbappe is ranked fourth and Lamine Yamal is ranked seventh.

Erling Haaland, the goal machine for Man City, is only sixth on the list with 195 points, which may surprise some.

The previous year, Haaland, who came in second to Messi in 2023, scored 38 goals in 45 games for City. But it is revealed that Haaland’s teammate Rodri is the real winner of the Ballon d’Or 2024.
