The Portuguese star has been linked with a move to Europe.

Amidst the uncertainty as his contract is coming to an end, Cristiano Ronaldo has ruled out leaving Al-Nassr during the January transfer window.

The Saudi Pro League team is offering the five-time Ballon d’Or winner a record-breaking £177 million ($220 million) every year. When travelling to the Middle East in early 2023, those terms were decided upon, and they are set to expire in the summer.

Although a return to Europe has been suggested as a possible next challenge for Ronaldo, no switch of scenery is anticipated before the all-time great’s 40th birthday on February 5.

Ronaldo has told the Saudi Pro League’s official media channels: “I’m happy and my family is happy. We started a new life in this beautiful country. Life is good, football is good. In terms of individual and collective, we are still there. We are still improving.

“It’s hard to compete with teams like Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad, but we are still there, still pushing and fighting. Football is like that; you have good moments and bad moments. But, for me, the most important thing is to be professional, to push hard, respect the club, respect your contract and believe that things will change – for Al Nassr to try to win more titles.”

Despite the goals still coming in, Ronaldo has yet to find major silverware during his time with Al-Nassr. He intends to add to his medal collection before any long-term decisions are made for the future. “I want to win the [AFC] Champions League for the club,” CR7 continued. “But the most essential is to keep striving and remain professional.”

Ronaldo and company are getting ready to return to the pitch following a joyous holiday break. Al-Nassr will play their first Champions League match on February 3 against Al-Wasl. They have five Saudi Pro League games to play before then.
