Will Cristiano Ronaldo feature in Al-Nassr's pre-season clash against Portimonense?
Ronaldo is currently on vacation after Euro 2024.
Al-Nassr will need to hone their tactics and bolster their team in order to mount a strong push for the Saudi Pro League title in the 2024-25 season. But so far their progress in that direction has been disappointing after a 1-1 stalemate with Louletano DC.
The Saudi club will next face Portimonense and will hope to get back to winning ways. The supporters will look forward to these preseason games, believing that the pre-season will help Al-Nassr reach new heights in the upcoming campaign.
Many renowned players have returned for the pre-season and will have a big role to play once again for next season. One of the key stars will be Cristiano Ronaldo who joined the club in 2022 and has been their fundamental goalscorer in every game.
However, the fans won’t see Ronaldo anytime soon as the Portuguese is currently spending his time on holidays and it’s uncertain when the striker will return to action.
Ronaldo led Portugal to the quarterfinal of the Euro 2024 where they lost to France on penalties. Thus this means he will be given extra days off to get maximum rest before the start of the new season.
Will Cristiano Ronaldo play against Portimonense?
Ronaldo is unlikely to play for Al-Nassr in this pre-season clash against Portimonense. It remains to be seen when he returns from his holidays after taking Portugal deep in the Euro 2024. The forward is currently spending his days off and the club are yet to confirm when Ronaldo will take the pitch.
This upcoming season will be the former Real Madrid player’s second full season with the Saudi club after signing for them in January 2022. He has already made a massive impact in the Saudi Pro League, scoring goals left and right. But the 39-year-old is yet to win a title with Al-Nassr and will hope to add that championship to his trophy cabinet this season.
The Middle Eastern club will face the likes of Portimonense, Porto and Lusitano before playing the Al-Taawoun in the Saudi Super Cup semi-final. Ronaldo might feature in that cup game. But this also remains doubtful given he won’t be fully fit to start the game and might come on as a substitute.
