Roberto Martínez will look to lead Selecao to their second Nations League trophy.

When the Iberian neighbours square off in the final tonight in Munich, Portugal and Spain will compete for the title of UEFA Nations League.

Both countries will be vying for a second championship. Spain are the favourite to win it again, while the Selecao, the opening edition winners, will try to upset the odds once more.

Portugal have already overcome the odds to get this far, defeating Germany on Wednesday at the Allianz Arena after trailing by a goal in a thrilling comeback.

They defeated Germany for the first time in 25 years thanks to a spectacular goal from Francisco Conceicao and a goal from Cristiano Ronaldo. This gives them the chance to become the first country to win the Nations League twice, having done so in 2019.

In addition to providing excellent preparation for their World Cup qualifying campaign, which begins in September and pits them against Hungary, Ireland, and Armenia, winning this tournament will bring back the fans’ support.

Will Ronaldo play tonight?

Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal on Wednesday, on his 220th Portugal appearance, hushed many detractors, and he will undoubtedly start in the attack of the lineup for Martinez’s team tonight.

Ronaldo will be ready to participate in one of the most important games of his career as he prepares to guide Portugal to their second Nations League victory tonight.

Ronaldo has witnessed everything. However, this final is still a test of flexibility rather than experience. He will be challenged by the youthful and agile Spanish defence.

Ronaldo may still need to deliver that one moment if Portugal is to win. that objective, that heading. That sprint. He understands what it means to win with his national team, so even though he won the inaugural competition, he still plans to add another international title to his resume tonight.
